Introduction
The word burqa is sometimes mixed with niqab.
In more precise use, a niqab is a veil that covers the eyes, while a burqa
covers the whole body from the top of the head to the ground, appearing in
front of the wearer wearing only a veil. The burqa will not be confused with
the hijab, a garment that covers the hair, neck, and all or all parts of the
chest, but not the face.
Burqa definition
A burqa is an outer garment that covers the
body and face which is worn by women according to some Islamic traditions. The Arab version of the burqa is called Boshiya and is usually black.
The burqa and other types of veils have been
attested since pre-Islamic times. The face veil has not been considered a
religious necessity by most Islamic scholars, past or present. However, some
scholars, especially those associated with the Salafi movement, see these as
obligatory for women in the presence of non-male relatives. Under the Taliban
regime, women in Afghanistan can wear the burqa for a variety of reasons,
including compulsory.
Burqa history
According to ancient times history, the term
burqa was used in Arabic before the advent of Islam in the early seventh
century. At that time the term burqa meant a garment that was used for
protection, especially in winter. The well-known Arabic dictionary Lisan
al-Arab gives us two examples of its use in the pre-Islamic period: first, as a
covering for animals in the winter, and second, as a covering chadar for the
village as a woman. Although the word burqa existed in the Arabic vocabulary of
the time, the Qur'an did not use the word burqa for the enhancement of women.
Nowadays Muslims use the word hijab as a
synonym for burqa, but the word hijab is not used in the same sense in the
Qur'an. The hijab literally means curtain. The hijab is used seven times in the
Qur'an, but not in the sense in which it is prevalent among today's Muslims,
but in the literal sense of the curtain.
To understand the prevalence of the hijab in Muslim
society at the present time, it is necessary to remember that there is a
difference between Islam and Muslims. Islam is the name of an ideology while
Muslims are a community that has its own culture, which keeps changing owing to
various circumstances.
Burqa purpose
Muslim scholars have long debated whether
wearing the burqa or niqab is obligatory, or whether it is the only one
recommended. There are also more liberal explanations that say that any
exercise is unnecessary, as long as women maintain the modesty described in the
Qur'an. This sacred text is addressed to faithful women who have been told to
protect their private parts and not to display their adornment without showing
it, which means the outer surface of a woman's clothing covers every part of
her body. There are additional Qur'anic instructions - that women draw a khimar
(scarf) to cover the Jayb (chest / upper chest) and draw near the jilbab
(chador) for the Prophet's wife and daughters and the women of the believers.
Why do Muslim women wear burqas?
A woman can wear a burqa to publish her piety, her
visibility on sexual modesty, to rejection of Western notions of sexuality, her
desire for mobility or privacy in a social environment controlled by men, or
her membership in political activities. Because wearing a burqa hides almost
all the body parts associated with beauty! "And the good that achieves
that purpose. If you don't want to hide your beauty, don't wear a burqa. It's
an easy choice.
It is a cultural, religious ritual/requirement.
Most believers wear clean clothes for women. While most Christians do not seem
to adhere strictly to clean clothing. It is true that Islam and Muslims adhere
to other religions more closely than any other person. They think they need to
follow their religion and it is not a choice.
Also, once a thing has become a habit it often
doesn’t seem like an obligation. Like many Americans, they are surprised that
the sari and salwar kurta and dupatta culture have come to India. Also, most
Indians go to work in formal attire and most wear full pants and jeans when
they go out to have fun in most parts of India.
Many Americans find the whole pants culture
very limited when it comes to fun, they wear light clothing. So, once you
immerse yourself in a culture it becomes less of a burden and it uses
psychoanalytic religions for psychoanalysis. I am not issuing any verdict or
saying it is good or bad. It's just the way it is. Also, many Muslim women,
especially those who do not wear the burqa or purdah under any pressure from a
religious person or family, are willing to follow their own will and their religion
properly and please Allah.
Burqa in Islam
The Qur'an, the holy book of Islam, tells
Muslims - men and women - to wear modest clothing. Male decency is meant to
cover the area from the navel to the knee. Women are usually seen covering
everything except their faces, hands, and legs when they are not related or
married in the presence of men.
The Islamic world is growing by claiming that
women wearing burqas are part of the Islamic dress code. Whether it is worn by
choice or by force is open to debate, as very few women are able or able to
comment on it. Those who claim the right to wear the garment, usually quoting
the Qur'an and prophetic instructions, argue against making it compulsory for
minorities to wear the garment.
A burqa is an outer garment worn by women in
Islamic society to cover their bodies and/or faces. It mostly stays behind
when a woman leaves her home and is forced to wear it until she returns.
The burqa is worn in various countries in The Middle East and in most Muslim countries around the world, with few liberal or
democratic governments being less strict about its use. One such famous example
is Turkey, where secular ideas predominate and give people the freedom to
choose. Meanwhile, in harsh countries women are forced to wear the burqa;
Failure to do so may result in beatings, harassment, or worse. Clearly, a woman
wears a burqa but more clearly, conservative practicing Muslims wear it. Girls
are not required to wear a burqa until they reach puberty, but the idea is not
practiced, as girls under the age of six are physically and mentally prepared
to prepare for their adult life.
