Stonewash
Stonewash is a wash process that uses pumice stone
to bring a rich look, more abrasion, and an old look to the body. Stone-free
enzymes are also often used in this work. These washes vary from fabric to
fabric. This wash is usually done on thick cotton. This wash gives the body
more abrasion, the soft hand feels cat-like, a tearing effect, a rich look, etc.
Denim is the most preferred clothing of the modern
age. Different types of denim such as pants, shirts, skirts, jackets, belts, caps, etc. are available in the market. To give an old look to denim,
different types of washing are given to denim garments. One such washing known as stonewash is done on different types of denim garments.
Objectives of stonewash
i. To get heavy abrasion on a garment,
ii. To get a high-low effect.
iii. To get a soft hand feels.
iv. To get a worn-out look
v. To get fading looks in garments.
vi. To get a vintage look in garments.
Stone Description
Since the degree of friction can vary for different
parts of the garment such as trouser-leg, button, and seaming parts, many
neutral patterns can be created. The degree of wash effect varies from 1 cm in
diameter to 7 cm depending on the stone size, stone ratio, liquor ratio,
duration of treatment, load on clothing, GSM of garments, etc. However other
washes such as sand wash, micro wash, and micro sand wash now use a very small
pumice stone. The stone should choose the appropriate hardness, shape, and size
for the specific end product. It should be noted that large, hard stones last
longer and are suitable for heavier fabrics, but smaller, softer stones are
better for lighter-weight fabrics and more delicate items. The fabric weight
ratio from stone varies (from 0.5 to 3)/1 kg. It depends on the degree of
friction required to achieve the desired result. The stones can be reused until
they are completely detached or the drain is washed away.
Stonewash process description
First, a certain number of garments is taken, then de-sized. Then a certain amount of stone is poured into the machine according to the desired effect. With certain amounts of enzymes and anti-back stain chemicals. This is done until the desired effect is achieved. After achieving the desired effect, you have to give it a good wash. Then if there is bleach, you have to clean the stones and use bleach, and then you have to neutralize the bleach. Then you have to wash well. If PP spray is required, it should be hydro extracted and dried in a dryer. After drying PP should be sprayed then PP should be neutralized. Now if you need tint, you have to use tint. Then you need to use the softener for good hand fill and unload from the machine. Then dry to match the standard. This is how to stone wash will end.
