The story of Musa and al khidr in the Qur'an

It is narrated on the authority of Hadrat Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) that one day when Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) stood up to address a gathering of the Children of Israel The question is, which person is the most knowledgeable? He said, "I am the wisest." God rebuked him for not entrusting knowledge to God, but said, "I have a servant at the confluence of the two seas who is wiser than you." Then he started the journey as per the command of Allah to meet him.

Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) said, O my Lord! Who will help me to reach him or how can I meet him? Then it was said, you take a fish in a bag. Wherever you lose the fish, you will find my servant. Then Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) took a fish and put it in his bag. Then he took the fish with his companion Yusha bin Noon. At last, they came to a rock and rested their heads on it. Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) fell asleep. At this time the fish jumped out of the bag and made its way to the sea like a tunnel. And Allah stopped the flow of water on the way of the fish. As a result, its path became like a tunnel. Then they both walked the rest of the night and the whole day.

The next morning, Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) said to his companion, "We are tired from the journey, so bring us food now." The Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) did not feel tired until he crossed the place which Allah had told him to go. Companion Yusha bin Nun then said, "Have you ever thought that the fish weirdly made its way to the sea where we rested?" But I forgot to tell you about the fish. Basically, it is the devil who has made me forget this. The narrator said that the path was like a tunnel for the fish and it was an amazing thing for them.

Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) said, "We are looking for that place." Then they followed in their footsteps, and when they came to the rock, they saw a man sitting there clothed. Moses greeted him. He replied to the salutation, "How did the salutation come here?" He said, "I am Moses." Khidr (AS) asked, "Are you Moses from the Children of Israel?" Moses said, "Yes." I have come so that you may teach me from the knowledge that is given to you in the way of truth. Khidr (AS) said, O Musa (AS)! I have some knowledge from Allah which you do not know. And you also have some knowledge from Allah which I do not know. Moses said, "Can I be your companion?" Khidr (AS) said, ‘You cannot be patient with me at all. If you see my activities with me, you will continue to seek information and interrogate me. As the student continues to question the teacher on the subject of instruction, it becomes difficult to keep him with him. Moreover, how can you be patient about something that is beyond your knowledge? The rest is similar to what has been described in the Qur'an.

Story of Musa and al khidr

The instructive story of Musa (AS) and Khidr (AS) narrated in the Qur'an are given below:

When Moses said to his young man (companion): I will not come until I reach the confluence of the two seas or I will continue for ages.

But when they reached the confluence of the two seas, they forgot about their fish. Then the fish made a tunnel in the sea and went down.

You may know- The last one who will enter paradise

When they passed that place, Moses said to his companion: Bring us breakfast. We are tired of this tour.

He said: Did you notice that when we took refuge in the rock, I forgot about the fish. It was Satan who made me forget that. The fish has surprisingly made its way into the sea.

Moses said: This is the place we were looking for. Then they took their marks and went back.

Then they met one of My servants, on whom We bestowed mercy from Me and gave him a special knowledge.

Moses said to him: Shall I follow you on the condition that you teach me something from the knowledge of the truth which has been taught to you?

He said: You cannot be patient with me at all.

How can you be patient when you see things that are beyond your control?

Moses said: God willing, you will find me patient and I will not disobey any of your commands.

He said: If you follow me, do not ask me about anything until I tell you something about it myself.

Then they went on: When they finally got into the boat, he made a hole in it. Moses said: Did you make a hole in it to drown its riders? Surely you have done a serious evil deed.

He said: Did I not say that you cannot be patient with me?

Moses said: Do not blame me for my wrongdoing and do not be harsh with me in my work.

Then they started walking. When he finally met a boy, he killed him. Moses said? Did you end an innocent life without exchanging lives? Surely you have done a serious wrong.

He said: Did I not say that you cannot be patient with me?

Moses said: Then if I ask you about anything, do not take me with you. You have been acquitted on my behalf.

Then they went on their way. When they finally reached the people of a town and asked them for food, they refused to entertain them. Then they saw a falling wall there, which he straightened up. Moses said: "If you wished, you could have taken their reward from them."

He said: This is where the relationship between you and me ended. Now that you have not been able to be patient, I am telling you its significance.

As for the boat, it belonged to a few poor people. They were looking for a livelihood at sea. I wanted to make it flawed. On one side of them was a king. He would snatch every boat by force.

As for the boy, his parents were honest. I feared that he would affect them by disobedience and disbelief.

Then I wished that their Lord would give them a better offspring, better than them in holiness and love.

The wall thing was about two fatherless boys in the city. Beneath it was their hidden treasure, and their father was a doer of good. So, your Lord made it obligatory upon them that they should enter into youth and that they should save their hidden treasures. I didn't do it on my own. Here is an explanation of what you were unable to bear.

Originally, Khidr (AS) narrated these events at the command of Allah Almighty.
