Tahajjud prayers
The
best of the acts of worship is prayer. Nafl or additional worship is the main
help in attaining nearness to Allah. The night is better than the day for
worship. Allah says, ‘O you who wraps himself [in clothing]! Arise [to pray]
the night, except for a little; Half of it - or subtract from it a little, or
add to it, and recite the Qur'an with measured recitation. Indeed, we will cast
upon you a heavy word. Indeed, the hours of the night are more effective for
concurrence [of heart and tongue] and more suitable for words. Indeed, for you
by day is prolonged occupation. And remember the name of your Lord and devote
yourself to Him with [complete] devotion. [He is] the Lord of the East and the
West; there is no deity except Him, so take Him as Disposer of [your] affairs.
(Surah 73 Muzzammil, verses 1-8).
Allah
further says, ‘O clothed! Arise, warn, proclaim the majesty of your Lord,
purify your garments, and abstain from defilement. Don't expect too much from
others by donating something. And be patient for the sake of your Lord.’ (Surah
74 Muddachchir, verses: 1-7).
After
the obligatory prayers, the most important is the Tahajjud prayers. The Qur'an
says, referring to the beloved Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon
him), ‘And perform Tahajjud prayer for some part of the night, it is an extra
duty of yours. Hopefully, your Lord will establish you in the praiseworthy
place — Maqam Mahmud (Surah 17 Isra, verse 79). '

The
best time for mercy is the time of Tahajjud. After sunset on special nights of
the year including Shab-e-Qadr, Allah descends to the nearest heaven of the
world. Every night during Tahajjud, Allah first comes to the heavens and
listens to the pleas and petitions of the servants.
Beloved
Prophet (peace be upon him) used to perform Tahajjud prayers every night. So it
is circumcised, and additional nafl as well. This was an additional
responsibility for the Prophet (peace be upon him). Tahajjud prayers are the best of the
five prescribed nafl. Hazrat Ali (RA) said, ‘Those who have performed Tahajjud prayers in the middle of the night, are the ones who have ascended in the spiritual
world to gain nearness to Allah.’ Tahajjud is the means of salvation. The
Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, 'Tahajjud prayers is the best
prayer after the obligatory prayers.'
Everyone
should worship himself as well as try to include his relatives and close
relatives in worship through love and sincerity. The Prophet (peace and
blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘Allah has mercy on the husband who gets
up at night to perform Tahajjud prayers and wakes up his wife. If he refuses to get up,
water splashes on his face. '
Tahajjud prayers time
Sleeping
in the evening and getting out of bed after midnight is called Tahajjud prayers. From
the time when two-thirds of the night has elapsed during the Tahajjud prayers,
that is, from two o'clock in the night until the time of Fajr begins. The time
of Tahajjud ends when the time of Sahri ends and the time of Fajr begins. So it
is better to sleep before Tahajjud and get up and recite Tahajjud prayers.
It
is sunnah to lengthen each Rukun or episode including Ruku, and Sijdah in nafl
prayers. For this, Tasbeeh can be recited many times in Ruku and Sijdah, and in
other episodes, too many different doa, Masura, which are in Qur'an-Hadith can
be recited. The same surah of the same rak'ah can be recited repeatedly and
different suras and different verses. For this reason, it is not necessary to
maintain the order or continuity of recitation in the Sunnah and Nafl prayers.

Superstitions about tahajjud
There
are many superstitions among people about this. For example, ‘Tahajjud has to
be read in the dark’, ‘Tahajjud has to be read in secret’, ‘Tahajjud has to be
recited by Jinn’, or ‘Tahajjud has to be performed regularly. In fact, these
are misconceptions. However, one should be careful and vigilant so that one's
sleep is not disturbed and there is no propaganda mentality. If Tahajjud can be
performed regularly, it is very good.
Conclusion
In
order to observe the obligatory fast of Ramadan, one has to get up to perform circumcision by eating Sahri, and the time of Sahri is the time of Tahajjud. So it is very easy to perform Tahajjud prayers in Ramadan. Tahajjud can be
recited in 2 rak'ats, 8 rak'ats, 12 rak'ats or more or less. The reward of nafl
