The concept of freedom in Islam

Faith is the basic tenet of Islam. The essence of faith is Kalema tayeba. This declaration is given in the Holy Qur'an, ‘La ilaha illallah Muhammadur Rasulullah’, meaning ‘there is no god except Allah. Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the Messenger of Allah. 'By this proclamation, the believer is freed from the bondage of all kinds of false gods and human beings and accepts Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) as the ideal.

In Islamic philosophy, human beings are created and born free. Freedom is a basic human right. People are always free in their minds. So he likes to be independent even in the material world. Man will not enslave anyone except Allah, will not enslave anyone; One will not accept the sovereignty of anyone except the sovereignty of Allah. Accept the truth and the beautiful, walk in the path of justice and goodness, practice good manners and benevolence, reject the ugly, and ignore the untruth.

Freedom is a fundamental human right and the core philosophy of Islam. The goal of Islam is to liberate people from the shackles of human slavery and give them full human dignity. The Prophet (peace be upon him) did not stop at just freeing slaves; He gave the slave the status of a child, anointed the slave as a brother, and made the slave an army commander. Hereditary Dasanudas has appointed African Kafri Negro Habashi Bilal (ra) as the chief muezzin of the Nawawi in the mosque.

You may know- Hoor in Islam | Description of Hoor in Islam

All the people of the world have equal human dignity. Freedom makes people self-respecting and dutiful. Allah says, ‘O people! We created you from a male and a female and made you into nations and tribes that you may know one another. The most honorable of you in the sight of Allah is the most pious of you. Surely, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.’ (Sura-49 Hujurat, verse: 13).

All the people of the world are the children of father Adam (AS) and mother Eve (AS). So all people are brothers, there is no difference between them. White-black, long-short — this is the contribution of nature created by Allah. Racial differences, linguistic differences, and geographical and ethnographic differences do not make any difference between people. In his Farewell Hajj speech, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘White has no dominance over black, and Arabia has no superiority over non-Arabs.’

That is, no one can dominate anyone. Everyone will abide by the human provisions given by Allah. No one will dominate or dominate anyone. Almighty God, being the possessor of omnipotence, has given man complete freedom in this world. God has given man wisdom to understand good and evil, truth and falsehood, and justice and injustice. In the hereafter, according to karma, man will be entitled to paradise or hell. Demand for independence - responsible behavior. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): “There is no coercion in Islam; Those who denied Taghut, that is, the evil power, and believed in Allah the Almighty, held fast to the strong handle, which will never be broken; Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.(Sura-2 al-Baqara, verse: 256).

‘Didn’t I make him two eyes for her? And the tongue and the lips? And I have shown him (truth-falsehood, justice-injustice) two ways (Sura-90 Ballad, verses: 8-10).'

‘I tested him with hearing and sight to test him. I have guided him, perhaps he will be grateful or he will be ungrateful (Surah 6 Dahar, verses 2-3).'

‘Those of the People of the Scripture who disbelieve and the polytheists will abide in the fire of Hell; they are the worst of creation. Surely those who believe and do righteous deeds are the best of creatures. For their Lord is the reward of everlasting paradise; wherever the springs flow, they will abide forever. Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. It is for him who honors his Lord. '(Sura-98 Bayanah, verses: 6-8).

Freedom is not unlimited. People are free as long as they do not encroach on the freedom of others. Because man is a social being, his personal range of life is very limited. One cannot do things in the name of personal freedom that causes discomfort and annoyance to others. Remember, personal matters are private as long as no one's likes or dislikes are added to them. As long as its effects and consequences are limited to the individual himself.
