Importance of salam in Islam

Salam in Islam

Salam in Islam

Salam is one of the signs or symbols of Islam. It is customary to exchange greetings when two Muslims meet. The Sunnah of the Prophet and the instructions of the Holy Qur'an.

Salam is the right of a Muslim. There is nothing as beautiful as salam in the languages of the world. Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullah should be said with a sweet smile one-another. May God's mercy and peace be upon you.

Islam is a religion of peace. The word Islam means peace. Each of its provisions has a pacifist undertone. This unique word of greeting helps us understand the nature of Islam.

One who is accustomed to greeting his Muslim brother on seeing him develops a habit of peace and harmony. When the Muslim society is accustomed to harmony and cordiality, it becomes easier for him to show gentle behavior towards non-Muslims and other animals.

This teaching of mutual affection and love is not so beautifully taught in any other religion. Every religion talks about peace and harmony. It must be said that the manifestation of this love in Islam is unique compared to all other religions.

You may know- Hell or Jahannam | The hell according to Qur'an-Hadith

Abdullah Ibn Salam was a Jewish scholar, the Prophet (saw) when he first entered Madinah, he went to see the Prophet (saw).

'When he saw the Prophet for the first time, he heard this hadith from the Prophet, peace be upon him, saying, O people, spread peace, feed the people, pray when everyone is asleep, and enter Paradise in peace.'

Hearing such lovely words from the Prophet's mouth, he understood that he was a true prophet and Immediately he accepted Islam.

Salam is the command of Allah Ta'ala

Allah subhanahu ta'ala says, O believers, do not enter anyone's house other than your own without permission and salutation. That is better for you so that you take counsel. (Surah Noor, Verse: 27)

Elsewhere it states, when you enter houses, greet your relatives as a greeting that is good and pure from Allah. (Surah: Noor, Verse: 61)

He also said, when you are greeted, you will respond to the greeting more gracefully or respond in a similar way. (Surah: Nisa, verse: 86)

Salam is the command of the Prophet (saw)

Hazrat Ibn Amr (RA.) Narrated, a person asked the Prophet (saw), which practice of Islam is the best? Prophet He said, feeding people and greeting everyone. (Bukhari and Muslim)

Salam is an integral part of Muslim culture. A Muslim society without Salam cannot be imagined. There are numerous hadiths about the importance of salam. I will mention only one hadith here.

Prophet (saw)- He said, you cannot go to Paradise without faith. Can't be a believer without mutual love. Shall I not teach you one thing by which you may love one another? Spread the greetings. Give more greetings. (Bukhari)

If you want to go to heaven, you have to love each other. What more can be said about social harmony? Is there any other religion that can be found in such an example of creating mutual harmony?

Today we get into quarrels with each other over trivial reasons. One Muslim is enmity with another Muslim. I keep hatred in my heart. Always think of others' losses. Its name is not Islam. All this cannot be the work of a Muslim.

In the name of forming an Islamic party, I consider the people of other parties to be enemies of Islam. A Muslim insults another Muslim as an enemy of Islam. What are we doing all this?

Islam does not teach us enmity. Hatred and strife do not teach. So where did I get such a broken mentality? Where did we get the bad aspects of our nature?

Let us learn the unique teachings of Islam from today. Learn to think of all people as friends. Let there be no enmity in our dictionary. Spread love everywhere in society.

See with a pure heart a salutation. Your heart will be filled with pleasure. The purity of your heart will touch others. Society will be filled with mercy and blessings. The impact on the environment will be immediate. We can easily spread peace around the world.

Hazrat Ibn Umar (RA) used to go to the market only to give salam. There is no shortage of people in our country. You will find people when you leave the house. Resolve to give more salams from today.

I am starting, you should also start, Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.
