Awards for religious scholars
Prophet (saw) said, those who want to see people saved from the punishment of Hell, let them look at those who have acquired knowledge of the religion of Allah Ta'ala. He has announced several awards for religious scholars. What are those rewards?
One of the reasons for human excellence in creation is knowledge. Because of this knowledge, Almighty Allah gave Hazrat Adam (A.S.) superiority over the angels and asked him to prostrate. It was the great kindness of Allah towards man. Still, those who possess knowledge are entitled to superiority or preeminence in society. For this reason, there is no alternative to learning religious knowledge. It has been mentioned in the hadith-
Prophet (saw) said, whoever wants to see people saved from the punishment of Hell, let him look at those who seek knowledge of the religion of Allah Ta'ala. He swears:
i. When a seeker of knowledge (religious) goes to the door of ulema to learn ilm, every step he takes is rewarded with a reward of one year of worship.
ii. A city is built for him in Paradise.
iii. When he wanders on the ground, the ground intercedes for him in the court of Allah Ta'ala. And
iv. Morning and evening appear upon him in such a state that Allah forgives him.
v. The angels bear witness that they (those who acquire religious knowledge) are saved from Hell.'
What is the importance of acquiring knowledge in Islam?
The importance of acquiring knowledge in Islam is very high. If you do not have religious knowledge, you will be deprived of the quality of fearing Allah, and fearing Allah is the way to get the opportunity for good deeds. The Qur'an is a guide for those who fear Allah in their hearts. The blessing of knowledge creates the fear of God in the heart. Imam Razi (Ra) said 5 important things about knowledge. They are-
i. As rain descends from the sky, knowledge also descends from the sky.
ii. Just as the soil for the production of fruits is created due to rainfall, human qualities can be acquired in the soil of the human mind due to the acquisition of knowledge.
iii. Just as crops do not grow from the soil without rain, people are not able to worship Allah without knowledge.
iv. Just as the thunder in the sky or lightning causes rain, so the hope of Paradise and the fear of the punishment of Hell leads to the acquisition of knowledge.
v. Just as rain is sometimes beneficial and sometimes harmful, it is beneficial if it is practiced according to Ilam. On the other hand, if you do not act according to your knowledge, then it is harmful.
