Family education

The impact of family education is borne by people throughout life and is driven by it. It is easy to be a good person if you get a good education from your family. On the other hand, it is difficult to be a good person if you do not get a good education from your family or if you are separated from your family. So the family is a unique educational institution, there is no doubt about it.

Childhood, adolescence, and a large part of life are spent in one's own family. The influence of family in human life is immense. In that case, if the educational environment in the family can be ensured, the family members can easily develop into successful people. Even if the educational institutions are closed for various reasons, the continuity and mentality of the children will be maintained due to the effect of proper family education.

Educated parents

Children usually look up to the education of their parents. They adopt their parents' habits and attitudes. At first, it becomes unconscious and later it becomes a habit. If parents are not aware in the beginning, it is not possible to raise children as real people. Therefore, it is very important for the head of the family to get an education before forming a family. After the creation of Adam (peace be upon him), Allah the Almighty taught him before the creation of his family. Allah says: “And He taught Adam all the names, then He revealed them to the angels and said: Tell me the names of them all if you are truthful. (Surat al-Baqara, Ayat: 31)

Family education has one of the most important effects on a child's life. The child who gets the right education in the family, even when he grows up, remains steadfast in the right path. On the other hand, the child who gets bad education in the family continues to follow the bad path even when he grows up. The effect of family education is clear from the hadith. Narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘Every child is born on Fitrat (Islam). Then his parents made him a Jew or a Christian or a fire-worshiper. (Bukhari, Hadith: 1319; Muslim, Hadith: 6926)

Family education of Luqman (AS)

Luqman (AS) gave various education to his son. He teaches the child to believe in Allah, not to associate anyone with Him, to establish prayers, to be humble by avoiding arrogance, to enjoin good deeds and forbid evil deeds, to be patient in adversity, and to adopt moderation and decency in all matters. As the details of these are described in the Holy Qur'an, it is obligatory for everyone. Allah says, ‘Remember when Luqman was advising his son,‘ O son, do not associate anything with Allah. Surely shirk is extreme oppression. (Surah Luqman, verse: 13)

Islam practice in the family

Islam practice is very important to maintain the religious environment in the family and try to observe the religion. Maintaining a religious atmosphere in the family makes it easier for family members to observe religious taboos. As children grow up in a religious atmosphere, a sense of responsibility, loyalty, and respect for their parents is created in them. In light of reality, the elderly members of such families do not have to go to the old age home. Children do not get involved in drugs and alcohol. Spiritual happiness and peace prevail even in the midst of financial difficulties. Allah says, ‘And enjoin prayer on your family and be steadfast in it. (Surah Ta-Ha, Ayat: 132)

It is narrated in the hadith that Amr ibn Shuayb narrated from his father and he narrated from his grandfather that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘Instruct your children to pray when they are seven years old. If it is 10 years, beat it for prayers if necessary. And set aside their beds. (Abu Dawood, Hadith: 495)
