Benefits of good deeds in Islam

Good deeds give a peaceful life. The benefits of good deeds in Islam are as follows-

i. In this world, Allah will give him a holy life

People of all religions of the world want peace. Whoever does righteous/good deeds, Allah will grant him a peaceful life. Allah says: “Whoever does good deeds while he is a believer, whether male or female, I will most certainly make him live a good life, and I will certainly reward them according to the best of their deeds. (Surah Nahl, Ayat 97)

According to the majority of commentators, the word 'Hayate Tayyiba' here means the holy and joyful life of the world. On the contrary, for those who do not follow the path of Allah, there is a narrow life. Allah says: “And whoever turns away from My remembrance, his life will indeed be shortened, and I will gather him on the Day of Resurrection, blind. (Surah Ta-Ha, Ayat: 124)

ii. Allah will take care of the family

A lot of wealth, land, and houses cannot be used to protect your family. Allah said, ‘The matter of the wall was that of two fatherless boys in the city. Below this was their hidden treasure, and their father was a doer of good. So, your Lord, in His mercy, wished that they should enter into youth and save their hidden treasures. (Surah Al-Kahf, Ayat: 72)

The verse indicates that the treasures reserved for the orphaned boys were kept by the Khidr (a.s.) because their father was a beloved and righteous servant of Allah. So, Allah made this arrangement for the benefit of his children. (Tafsir Ibn Kathir)

iii. Allah will protect you from any sudden danger

In a long hadith, three persons are mentioned. The three men took refuge in the cave during heavy rains in the middle of the hill. Suddenly a large rock rolled over the mouth of the cave and closed its mouth. All three of them became terrified. During this time, all three of them prayed to Allah with their sincere deeds. In exchange for their prayers, Allah removed the part of the stone into three parts. The first person prayed with his parents in an honest manner. The second man, fearing Allah, refrained from engaging in an immoral relationship with one of his cousins. The third person, who has paid the fair dues of the worker. He prayed to Allah for this. Then Allah has saved them in this time of crisis with the help of their prayers. (Bukhari, Hadith: 2215)

iv. The love of creation

Invisibly, Allah will give love to man in his heart. According to Quran, ‘Surely the Merciful creates love for those who believe and do good deeds. (Surah Maryam, verse: 96) Ibn 'Abbas said that it means that he created a love for him (That Man) among the people of the world. In other words, he loves her himself, and he makes love in the minds of other believers. Mujahid and Dahhak have made this meaning. According to another narration from Ibn Abbas, he spread love, good livelihood, and truth among the Muslims for him in the world. So Allah creates friendship and love for those who are steadfast in faith and good deeds. When faith and conviction are fully embraced and freed from external evil influences, mutual love, and harmony are created among the believers.

A virtuous person falls in love with another virtuous person and Allah creates love for them in the minds of other people and creatures as well. It has been narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When Allah loves a slave, He says to Jibril (AS): I love that slave and you love him too. Then Jibril (AS) announced this in all the heavens and then all the inhabitants of the heavens began to love that servant. Then this love was sent down to earth. As a result, the inhabitants of the world continue to love him. (Bukhari: 5693, Muslim: 2637, Tirmidhi: 3161)

v. Allah will give love and closeness

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) said: Allah says: Whoever is hostile to any of my saints, I will declare war on him. "Among all the acts of worship by which my servant attains nearness to me, there is no deed dearer to me than that which I have made obligatory upon him. And the servant continues to attain nearness to Me through supererogatory acts of worship." In the end, I do make him my favorite, so that I became his ear, with which he listened. I become his eyes, through which he sees. And I become his hand, with which he holds. I become his foot, by which he walks. If he asks me for anything, I give it to him. And if he seeks refuge in Me, I surely give him refuge. I do not hesitate to do whatever I want to do, as much as I hesitate to take the life of a believing servant. He dislikes death and I dislike his survival. (Bukhari, Hadith: 6502)

vi. Allah will give leadership to him in the midst of the earth

Allah says: Allah has promised those who have believed among you and done righteous deeds that He will surely grant them succession to authority upon the earth just as He granted it to those before them and that He will surely establish for them therein their religion which He has preferred for them and that He will surely substitute for them, after their fear, security, for they worship Me, not associating anything with Me. But whoever disbelieves after that - then those are defiantly disobedient. (Surah Noor, verse: 55)

In this verse, Allah has promised the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) three things. (1) Your ummah will be made caliph and ruler in the heart of the earth, (2) Islam, the religion chosen by Allah, will be strengthened, and (3) Muslims will be endowed with such strength and valor that there will be no fear of enemy in their hearts. Allah has fulfilled this promise. During the reign of the Prophet himself, Mecca, Khyber, Bahrain, the whole Arabian Peninsula, and the whole of Yemen were conquered by him and he collected tax from Hijr and some parts of Syria who were fire-worshippers.
