Which defects to be avoided in sacrificial animals?

Which defects are to be avoided in sacrificial animals?

Sacrifice is a unique act of worship to attain nearness to Allah. This can be sacrificed with six types of animals. Then camels, cows, buffaloes, goats, sheep, and ewes. However, these animals must be free from certain faults and problems. The sacrificial animal must be healthy, beautiful, and nourished. What are the problems that will not be sacrificed?

Sacrifice is the worship of becoming more beloved to the beloved servants of Allah. This is an essential duty for every able-bodied believer. According to the guidelines of the hadith, if there are some physical defects and problems, the sacrifice will not be performed. Then-

Hazrat Abu Zahhaq Ubayd Ibn Fayruz (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated that I asked Hazrat Bara (may Allah be pleased with him) to tell me about the animals which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade to be sacrificed. He said, "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, stood up and my hand was smaller than his." He said, Sacrifice with four kinds of animals is not valid-

i. An animal that does not see with the eyes, whose eyes do not see is obvious;

ii. Lean animals, in which the disease is obvious;

iii. Lame or lame animal, whose lameness or lameness is obvious;

iv. Weak animal, which has no bone marrow. That is, unable to move.

I said, ‘I don’t even like having horn and tooth defects. He said, 'Leave what you dislike; But do not forbid it for other people. '(Nasai)

Besides these

a. Sacrifices cannot be made with wild animals, which have a wild feeling. Although the meat of wild animals is halal; in the case of sacrifice, it is not lawful to sacrifice a wild animal.

b. Again deer cannot be sacrificed. Although deer meat is halal. I want it to be wild or nurtured at home.

Animal sacrifices are makrooh

Even sacrificial animals have to be nurtured at home by humans. Wild cows, buffaloes, sheep, and goats will not be sacrificed in the forest. There are some animals that are makrooh even if they are sacrificed. Again, there are some physical defects in the animal which, if there are any, the sacrifice will be performed but it will be makrooh. It is better not to sacrifice all these defective animals. And then-

a. The horns of the beast are broken.

b. Cut off the animal's ears.

c. Cut the tail of the animal.

d. Cut the breast of the animal or cut the penis etc.

Animals that cannot be sacrificed

Animals have some physical defects; As a result, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade sacrificing animals. Those are-

i. Mukabala: Cut one side of the ear

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) commanded us to take a good look at the eyes and ears of the sacrificial animal. And we should not sacrifice any animal that is cut off the front of the ear, cut off the back of the ear, cut off the tail, and cut off the animal from the base of the ear. '(Nasai)

ii. Mudabara: Cut from the root of the ear

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) commanded us to take a good look at the (sacrificial animal) eyes and ears. And let us not sacrifice an animal that has a deaf ear, cut off one side of its ear, cut off the base of its ear, and whose ears are open and have a hole in its ear. '(Nasai)

iii. Kharka: Earhole

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated, ‘The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade the sacrifice of an animal whose ear is cut off at one side or the ankle or whose ear is cut off or whose ear has a hole and whose ear is cut off from the root.’ (Nasai)

iv. Sharka: cracked ears

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that an animal which is cut off from one side of the ear or from the beginning of the ear or whose ear is cracked or has a hole in the ear or which has an ear cannot be sacrificed. '(Nasai)

v. Azba: The horn is broken

Hazrat Jurai Ibn Qulayb (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that I heard Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) say, ‘The Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) forbade sacrificing animals with broken horns. Then I mentioned it to Saeed ibn Musayyib (may Allah be pleased with him) and he said, "If the horn is broken in half or more, then it is forbidden to sacrifice that animal." (Nasai)
