Paradise
Paradise is an Arabic word. Its literal
meaning is garden, comfortable place, etc. In the terminology of Shari'ah, the
blissful abode that Almighty Allah has prepared for the eternal life of the
believer after the end of this worldly life is called Paradise. On the Day of
Judgement, the Merciful Allah will bestow upon those whose deeds He is pleased
with, a Paradise adorned with flowers, beautiful mansions, charming, spacious,
and a nest of everlasting peace; There are different types of rivers and
streams flowing under it. All kinds of pleasures will exist there. All the
desires of the heart will be fulfilled. And its inhabitants will be free from
all evils forever. Almighty Allah has mentioned the details of the blessings of
Paradise in various verses of the Qur'an Azim.
Name of 8 heavens/paradises in Islam
The Name of 8 heavens/paradises in Islam according to the Quran, such as below-
i. Jannatul Firdaus
According
to Quran-
“Jannatul Firdaus is for the entertainment
of those who believe and do good deeds. There they will stay forever; from
there they will not want to go anywhere else”. (Surat al-Kahf, verses 107-108)
Narrated by Abu Huraira:
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah
be upon him) said, “Whoever believes in Allah and His Messenger, performs
prayers in full and fasts the month of Ramadan, Allah will grant him Paradise, whether
he fights in the way of Allah or stays where he was born."
People said, O Messenger of Allah! Shall
we give good news to the people?”
He said, “There are one hundred grades of
Paradise which Allah has reserved for the mujahids who fight in His cause, and
the distance between each grade is equal to the distance between the heavens
and the earth. So, when you ask Allah (for something), ask for Al-Firdous, the
best and highest part of Paradise.” (Sahih al-Bukhari 2790)
ii. Darul Makam
According to Quran- "Who by His grace has given us 'Darul Makam' i.e., permanent abode, where no
hardship will touch us." (Surah Fatir, verse 35)
iii. Darul Qarar
According to Quran- "O
my community! This worldly life is a temporary enjoyment and the hereafter is
the 'Darul Qarar' i.e., the eternal abode." (Surah Momin, verse 39)
iv. Darus Salam
According to Quran- "And Allah calls to 'Darus Salam' i.e., the abode of peace, and guides whomever
He wills to a straight path."(Surah Yunus, verse 25)
v. Jannatul Mawa
According to Quran- "Near it is situated 'Jannatul Mawa'. When the cool tree covered what it was
supposed to cover. He (the Messenger) was not deluded nor transgressed." (Surat
al-Nazm, verses 15-17)’
vi. Darun Naim
According to Quran- "O
my Lord! Grant me wisdom and include the righteous and make me truthful among
the latter. And include me among the 'Jannatun Na'im' i.e., the possessors of
Paradise." (Surah Shua’ara, verses 83-85)
vii. Darul Khuld
According to Quran- "They will wish for death when they are cast into a narrow place (of Hell)
bound. (Then it will be said to them) Today do not wish for death only once but
wish for death many times. Say, is it better or 'Jannatul Khuld' i.e., eternal
abode, promised to the Mottaki’s? This is their reward and return. They will
get whatever they want from their permanent residence there. It is your Lord's
responsibility to fulfill this promise." (Surah Furqan, verses 13-16)
viii. Jannatul Adan
According to Quran- "(O
Prophet!) The Book that I have revealed to you is true, it is the confirmation
of the previous books. Surely Allah knows and sees everything about His
servants. Then I made inheritors of this Book those of My servants whom I
chose. Some of them are tyrants to themselves, some are moderate and some are
pioneers in doing good by the will of Allah. This is (God's) great grace. They
will enter 'Jannatul Adan' i.e., Paradise of permanent residence. There they
will be adorned with gold bangles and pearls and there their clothes will be of
silk." (Surah Fatir, verses 31-33)
Conclusion
The pre-conditions for attaining the pleasure and meeting of Almighty Allah and attaining Jannah are the complete following of the commands of Allah and the Sunnah of Rasulullah (SAW). And to be always ready to make the highest sacrifice for the obedience and deen of the Great Lord. Allah mentions in the Qur'an this, surely Allah has bought their lives and wealth from the believers, for them is Paradise - in return. (Surah Tawba, verse 111)
